Hi, I do not think Technics would put the button there if it were likely to damage the amp. So go ahead and enjoy your headphones out of it.

Hi, I've had several sets of Soundmagic h/phones from you. I've just got a Technics SUV 300M2 amp, plugging phones in doesn't cut out speakers, but there IS a button to do this - will I risk damaging the amp by listening on phones with the speakers switched off? I've looked at the online manual but it's not clear if switching the speakers off means no load on the amp. Any advice much appreciated ( but I'm not really thinking of a headphone amp ). Thanks
