We've certainly been spoilt by Fiio's offerings of recent years; it's a situation that's all too easy to get used to. First it was amps which got insanely cheap, then DACs. Now we have to get used to the idea of great quality digital audio players for under £100. What's the world coming to?

With Christmas coming, we thought it would be a good idea to suggest what we think are the best gift ideas the Hifi Headphones site has to offer. Here is a rundown of our favourite headphones, earphones, portable players (DAP), amps and DAC's that 2014 has to offer.

Brainwavz S5 IEM Headphones Review, Brainwavz is another relatively new company in the personal audio market. However they are currently making big wavz of their own, and if the Brainwavz S5 is anything to go by a few more products from them can certainly float in this direction!

Great for those relaxing at home and in the office, the Audio-Technica ATH-CHX7iS is a slight departure from the usual style of in-ears and earbuds.

Comply Foam Tips are extraordinarily comfortable, reducing irritation and fatigue and leaving listeners with clear, crisp sound.

Shure's recent flagships, the closed-back SRH1540 and the open-back SRH1840 have teamed up to bring the price of great quality headphones under the £500 mark - but not at the expense of quality or an extremely enjoyable listen.

Close to perfect. For those who want just a little more detail without spilling over into strident territory the Shure SRH1840 is certainly worth considering.

As I come to appreciate slightly brighter headphones and presentations, the Shure SRH1540 is one of the guiding lights along the way.

Dunu's in-ear offerings are as numerous as they are interesting, but the current cherry on the top, the Dunu DN-2000, takes the cake.

The Audeze LCD-XC is definitely one of the top-tier headphones available now, and is a worthy stablemate to the similarly closed-back but smoother Fostex TH900.
