WeSC have just launched some new models in time for the summer holiday season.  The new headphone models are the WeSC Pickup and the WeSC Maraca.

The WeSC Maraca headphone is has a distincly retro design, not that far away from the highly sought after Alp Horn, but is a much smaller headphone and has a headband similar to the Bongo and Oboe models

WeSC Pick-up Headphones

The WeSC Pickup headphone is the coolest looking (in our opinion) of the new models, with circular ear pieces and funky earpads.  The headband is a metallic band with adjustment to allow for all sizes of head.

As ever WeSC have really pushed the boat out and come up with some of the funkiest looking headphones available.  You can be sure you’re wearing the coolest headphones with these new models.

We have just taken delivery of the brand new WeSC Sitar headphones.  The Sitar headphones comes in a range of cool colours and a stylish design that should satisfy the most fashion conscious listener.

The Sitar is a surprisingly lightweight headphone and has handy rotating ear pieces, making it possible to use them for DJ monitoring.  The sound quality is superb, with plenty of bass and good reproduction of higher frequencies.

The Sitar’s earpads sit on the top of the ears, rather than enclosing them completely, so while they seal out some noise they do let some external sound in.

Over the last year WeSC have been consistently releasing headphones with funky designs and compared with some of the other ‘trendy’ headphones on offer we have been very impressed with the sound quality of WeSC’s headphones.

If you are looking for stylish DJ headphones in cool colours then another option is the WeSC Bag Pipe. The WeSC Bag Pipe has larger ear pieces than the Sitar, which means they are better at isolating you from external noise than the Sitar.

WeSC Bag Pipe Headphones – Stretch Armstrong

The sound quality with the WeSC Bag Pipe is equally as good as the Sitar, but in our opinion a bit better suited to DJ use as there seems to be less emphasis on the bass and more on the mids/highs.  This makes the Bag Pipe a little better for cueing up the next tune as you can discern more of the detail in the mix.

The incredible looking WeSC headphones range is now available from the HiFi Headphones store. WeSC are on to a winner as they have developed a range of retro and street style headphones with decent sound quality to back up their good looks.

WeSC (We are the Superlative Conspiracy – pronounced wee-S-C) is a Swedish brand that is better known for designing rather cool looking clothing. WeSC have translated their definitive style onto the range of headphones. WeSC headphones certainly have a distinctive retro style that ensures they really stand out from the crowd.

Do WeSC Headphones Sound Any Good?

So how do the WeSC headphones sound? When we tested our first batch of WeSC headphones we were also positively surprised by the build and sound quality. Often with street style headphones the audio performance is seriously lacking and often the build quality is disappointing, but WeSC seem to have paid attention to the sonic abilities of their headphones as much as the physical build.

Which model – Oboe, Oboe Activist or Bongo?

It would be easy to label the WeSC headphone range as purely fashion accessories, but actually they don’t sound bad at all.  While not the last word in audiophile excellence, the WeSC range have a very well balanced sound with plenty of musical detail present.

The bottom of the range WeSC Oboe headphone sounds very capable, but in our opinion the WeSC Oboe Activist series delivers slightly better clarity. There is yet more improvement in audio detail with the WeSC Bongo headphone, which also has a slightly better fit due to the soft comfortable earpads.
