I recently purchased the Element III myself. I received it last week. The sound is excellent. I have 1 question though. I notice that you use the unit as a dac to another headphone amp at times. I don't want to BUT I think I'm going to have to do the same because it doesn't play as loud as I want when I boost my sub bass, which is 40 hz by about 8db. I'm powering HIFiMan HE1000v2 headphones and because of the boost, some of mu music plays pretty low in volume. What amp do you use and why do you sometimes use it? Also, do you get any drops in sound quality when using the external amp?

[…] Sony is notorious for making it difficult for anyone with decent equipment to get good sound out of the PS5. Luckily JDS Labs is so customer focused that they jumped on this early and have a solution. Just make sure to buy the UAC1 fallback cable and the inbuilt software does the rest. This is a great bit of kit that can also be used with your PC. (If you want a cheaper set up or just want a DAC or an Amp, take a look at JDS Labs Atom+ Stack) – Element III Full Review […]
